Clean Elections Update

Dear Clean Elections Supporters,

The public financing pilot project (HB 4130) for the Supreme Court elections of 2012 passed House Finance today and will advance to the floor next week! A special thank you to those who contacted Finance Committee members and asked that the proposal be adequately funded. The court fees were replaced in the bill, and a few other small changes were made. It will go to the floor in good shape!

Del. Carmichael offered an amendment that the elections be made non-partisan,but the amendment was declared not germane to the proposal and failed.

Great work, everyone! Thank you for your help. We'll need your support in the Senate!
